Privacy Policy
Call Me Almanac is a personal AI-research almanac. This page explains the limited data the site handles and why. Last updated June 15, 2026.
What we collect
- Ask the Almanac. When you submit a question we store the question text, a one-way hashed form of your IP address (used only for rate-limiting and abuse prevention — we do not store your raw IP), and basic request metadata (timing, model, token counts). If you are signed in as an administrator, your email is recorded with the request.
- Advertising. We display ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads.
- Hosting & analytics. The site runs on Vercel, which collects aggregate request and performance data.
- Sign-in. Administrative access uses Authentik, which sets a session cookie. There are no public user accounts.
Cookies & third parties
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services and opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ads settings. Third-party vendors and ad networks may serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Consent (EEA, UK & Switzerland)
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent message — delivered through Google's certified Consent Management Platform — before any personalized-advertising cookies are set. You can grant or decline consent there, and change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the site footer. Visitors elsewhere are not shown this banner.
How we use it
Question logs help us monitor answer quality and prevent abuse. Hashed IPs enforce rate limits. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use the Ask logs to build advertising profiles.
Your choices
You can browse without signing in, opt out of personalized ads using the Google settings above, change your consent any time via Cookie settingsin the footer (in the regions where it applies), and use your browser's controls to block or clear cookies. To request deletion of a question you submitted, contact us below.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
