Clarus: Collaboration infrastructure for coordinating autonomous research agents at web scale

Researchers introduce Clarus, a collaboration infrastructure designed to coordinate autonomous research agents—including AI systems, human researchers, and organizations—across web-scale scientific projects. The system defines a project-agent-resource object model and organizes scientific work through four layers (Research Application, Digital Collaboration, Physical Substrate, Physical World) with pluggable trust and attribution mechanisms.
